For Islamic Studies all students are advised to use the Tafsir of Ibn Kathir Volumes 1 – 10; or Interpretation of the Meanings of the Noble Quran in the English Language Volumes 1 – 9; or The many authenticated books written in parts such as the one pictured above translated by Tarbiyyah Publishing and my dear friend Umm Mujaahid Faakhirah Bumphus (rahimahullah ta’ala); may Allah make her grave spacious, forgive her, and grant her Jannah aameen.
We try by the mercy of Allah to remain consistent in covering the suwar based on the understanding in the tafsir inshaAllah ta`ala, may Allah allow us to remain upon what is good and correct according to Quran wa Sunnah aameen. And we thank Allah for His guidance and mercy.
Students are required to post benefits after each reading in the form of a paragraph. See the example below:

Benefit #1
Alhamdulillah nahmaduhu wa nasta’eenahu wa nastaghfiruhu, wa na’oodhu billaahi min shuroori anfusinaa wa min sayi’aati a’maalinaa. Man yahdih Illaahu falaa mudilla lahu wa man yudlil falaa haadiya lahu. Wa ashhadu an laa ilaaha ill-Allaah wahdahu la sharika lahu wa ashhadu anna Muhammadan ‘abduhu wa rasooluhu sallaAllahu alayhi wa ala alihi wasallam amma baad:
My benefit from the Tafsir of Ibn Kathir (rahimahullah) – we learned that Surah Al-Jathiyah was revealed in Makkah. The reading begins with a reminder Walhamdulillah about the servants being directed to contemplate Allah ta`ala’s favors and gifts as well as His great power. This is done by reflecting upon the creation of the heavens and the earth and the creatures within it. Also, that Allah ta`ala gives strong warnings throughout the surah while addressing the actions of the believers and the disbelievers. One warning that has been addressed is that we do not curse Ad-Dahr (the Time) because Allah says, “I am Ad-Dahr.” and cursing the time is like cursing Allah Himself. Lastly, that we are reminded to be patient with the harms of the disbelievers.
Barakallahu Feekum
May Allah bless me and you with understanding of the religion , aameen

Academic Sources of Reading
Alhamdulillah, we encourage parents and students to read, and to read often. There are many sources that can be used to create the correct reading standards for our children inshaAllah.
For example: Look for books under “Nonfiction books for kids”
https://www.goodreads.com/shelf/show/kids-non-fiction
THM offers students the ability to read in a safe environment, while teaching them the use of technology and online print resources inshaAllah. This also provides the opportunity to answer questions about facts in accordance to Islamic teachings and guidelines. Students can be given monthly book reports to allow them to connect that information with Quran wa Sunnah and the path of the Companions.
Just recently, the girls completed a project on “Bees”,

Read it for free with Kindle Unlimited
Their research involved the production of honey, and pesticides that harm the bee populations. This information is then connected to the speech of Allah (subhanahu wa ta’ala) in Surah an-Nahl (The Bee) ayaat 68 – 69 “And your Lord inspired to the bee…”There emerges from their bellies a drink, varying in colors, in which is a healing for people. Indeed, in that is a sign for people who give thought.”
You may also teach the students to connect this information with a narration from Ahaadith with the following:
Narrated Ibn `Abbas:
(The Prophet (ﷺ) said), “Healing is in three things: A gulp of honey, cupping, and branding with fire (cauterizing).” But I forbid my followers to use (cauterization) branding with fire.”Sahih al-Bukhari

Statement from Previous Scholars about honey:
Ibn al Qayyim (rahimahullah) mentions that “organic honey is the best of all nutritive sweeteners.” Light-coloured honey which has had the minimum of processing and comes from mountainous or wooded areas is better than other types of honey. Honey contains detergent and tonic properties. Taking a spoonful of honey in the mornings helps dissolve phlegm, gently warms and strengthens the stomach and increases a person’s appetite. Drinks sweetened with sugar rather than with honey yield more harm than benefit. A cold drink of honey and water insha’Allah strengthens the body, preserves its youth, as well as refreshing the heart.
